数学能力
At the Mount Union大学, a proficiency in mathematics is required to graduate. The proficiency requirement is designed to help to ensure that you are an educated consumer of information. The goal is for you to be able to understand, 解释, and to make conclusions based on quantitative data that might be presented through the media or that might be needed for your career and life success.
In order to be deemed proficient in mathematics, a student will have a demonstrated aptitude in the general areas of arithmetic, 代数, 几何, 数据分析. A student must have developed the mathematical skills and concepts needed to reason quantitatively and to solve problems analytically. You will be able to read newspapers, 杂志, and other literature geared to the general public with a full understanding of graphs, 资料解释, 百分比, 比率, 诸如此类. These areas coincide with the areas of emphasis in the quantitative reasoning measure established by the Educational Testing Standards for the Graduate Record Exam.

All incoming students will be assigned a math placement level determined by their ACT math or SAT math scores. The math placement process will place the student into one of four levels: A, B, C, or D. Students who have no ACT math or SAT math scores will take a math placement test.

The math placement process will place the student into one of four levels. The following course sequences will be required to meet the mathematics proficiency component of general education for levels A, B, 和C. Students placed into Level D will already have met the mathematics proficiency requirement. View math course requirements by major and according to placement level.
